CBI files supplementary charge sheet against Sooraj Pancholi for fabricating facts and hiding prior information regarding the suicide case of Jiah Khan on 3rd June 2013.

A statement of a psychiatrist whom Jiah visiting from 2008 has helped CBI to build the case against Sooraj Pancholi who has been charged with restraint which force Jiah of committing suicide Jiah Khan.

“The statement of the doctor has been recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) before a magistrate. In his statement, the doctor has said that Khan had been counseled by him since 2008 and she had confided about the abortions she had underwent. Jiah Khan had claimed that she was impregnated by Sooraj and owing to their career in showbiz, was forced to abort on more than one occasion,” a senior official from the agency told The Indian Express.

Rabia Khan, Jiah’s mother, believed of Sooraj’s tempering the facts and requested the High Court that the case should be looked after by CBI.

CBI handed over the reports to the sessions court on Wednesday states:

“Jiah was 4 weeks pregnant when she informed Pancholi about it. The couple then approached a doctor and finally a gynaecologist who prescribed a strong combination of drugs. After taking the medicine, Khan started haemorrhaging and called Pancholi for help.”

“She was in pain and needed immediate medical attention but Pancholi allegedly asked her to wait and called up the gynaecologist for guidance. He was asked to rush Khan to hospital as the foetus had probably been aborted but hadn’t been expelled from the body, which is probably what led to the haemorrhaging”.

“However, Pancholi was afraid that if Khan got hospitalised, their relationship would become public and his career could grind to a halt even before taking off. Sooraj then decided to take matters into his own hand rather than risking going to a hospital. He extricated the foetus and disposed it off in the toilet”.

These incidents made an incurable scar on Jiah, Sooraj’s constant ignorance towards her led her to utter depression and suicide.

When contacted, Aditya Pancholi, father of Sooraj, said that they will contest the charge sheet. “My son is not guilty of abetment,” said Aditya Pancholi. (Source: IndianExpress).
